Parish Sans is a display typeface that blends the organic letterforms of traditional Gaelic script with slick Swiss modernism. This typeface is a tool for highlighting local stories and people in rural Ireland while also embracing contemporary aesthetics.
For my degree project, I wanted to use design to enhance my home village of Kilworth in County Cork. My primary method for achieving this was to design a versatile typeface (or any small Irish town or village) with many potential applications, such as on wayfinding signage, in printed matter, and on event posters.
